THE JOHNSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
REGIONAL DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING CENTER

n addition to being available at Johnson Memorial Hospital's Stafford location, radiological, nuclear medicine and cardiovascular services are now conveniently provided in the new Johnson Memorial Hospital Regional Diagnostic Imaging Center, located at Johnson Surgery Center (JSC) in Enfield. These services were previously available within different buildings in Enfield, making it necessary for those requiring multiple tests and procedures to make the short journey from one facility to another. With all these services now together in one central location, accessing care has never been easier for residents of the greater Enfield area.

The upgraded MRI system at the Johnson Memorial Hospital Regional Diagnostic Imaging Center offers superior imaging and increased comfort to the patient.

Specific services provided in the Diagnostic Imaging Center include the following:
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Computerized Tomography (CT scan)
  • X-ray
  • Fluoroscopy
    Cardiac Stress Testing
  • Echocardiogram
  • EKG
  • Holter Monitoring
  • Cardiovascular Testing
  • Peripheral Vascular Testing
  • Nuclear Medicine

A women's imaging area within the Diagnostic Imaging Center offers:

  • Mammography
  • Ultrasound
  • Bone Densitometry
  • Stereotactic Breast Biopsy

Medical Laboratory services such as point-of-care testing, outpatient blood draws and specimen collection, which have always been available at JSC, are also now encompassed in the Diagnostic Imaging Center.

The Diagnostic Imaging Center features cutting-edge technology. A brand new, state-of-the-art digital ultrasound unit has been installed in the women's imaging area. In addition, the MRI system has been upgraded to a GE Signa Infinity 1.0T. This cutting-edge equipment is capable of performing routine procedures like brain and spine imaging, as well as advanced applications like vascular and cardiac imaging and spectroscopy. Because it is an "open magnet," the system is less confining than traditional MRI machines. While MRI had previously been offered several days a week in a medical trailer outside JSC, it is now housed inside and is available during all regular business hours.

JSC and the Johnson Memorial Hospital Regional Diagnostic Imaging Center are located at 148 Hazard Avenue. For more information, please call (860) 763-7651.
